Overview
Resurrection by Borrowed Qi is the standard English name for 還魂借氣. The surviving rule is short: an element at Death or Extinction may be considered rescued when another component returns usable qi to it. The passage gives Wood extinct at Shen with Jia-Shen and Metal extinct at Yin with Wu-Yin as examples, then says an accompanying fortunate factor improves the route. It does not provide a complete universal lookup table, and “resurrection” is an elemental metaphor rather than a claim about souls, death or reincarnation. The source describes rescue after an elemental Death or Extinction state
The rule starts with a specific element, its Twelve Life Stage relation to a branch and an actual chart component that restores a usable route. It is not enough to see the word Death or Extinction in a table.
Jia-Shen and Wu-Yin are the only explicit examples in the short passage. They illustrate the method but do not justify inventing all remaining stem-branch pairs.
