Overview

Official Above Official is the workbook standard English name for 官下有官, a compact San Ming Tong Hui relation chain illustrated by a Jia person with Xin in the month, Bing on the day and Gui in the hour. Jia takes Xin as Officer; Xin produces Gui as output, while Bing combines with Xin. The source calls this “an official beneath the official” and associates it with an attached appointment or multiple arts. Its “Jia person” wording belongs to a historical Three-Fates frame and must not be silently rewritten as a modern Day-Master formula. It does not prove hierarchy, multiple jobs, promotion, talent, authority, salary or status.

The rule is a positioned relation chain, not a count of Officer stars

The short passage gives a Jia person with Xin in the month, Bing on the day and Gui in the hour. It explains Jia’s Officer Xin, Xin’s output Gui, and Bing combining with Xin. The phrase “official beneath the official” names that chain rather than a second visible modern office.

Because “Jia person” coexists with a Bing-day position, the passage should be preserved in its historical framework instead of being forced into Day-Master-only syntax. Editors need a located school rule before generalizing it to other stems or positions.

  • Reproduce the positions and all three relations before using the label.
  • Disclose the historical subject convention rather than silently modernizing it.

Relation direction, position, usable qi, combination and damage are independent tests

Xin must fulfill the cited Officer relation, Gui the output relation from Xin, and Bing the stated combination with Xin under the adopted framework. Month, day and hour positions cannot be discarded without a sourced alternative.

Strength, roots, season, whether the Bing–Xin combination binds or transforms, Officer mixing, clashes, voids and competing structures still matter. Several Ten-God relations in a chart do not automatically recreate this chain.

  • Track each directed relation and its position independently.
  • Do not replace the source chain with an Officer count or generic combination.

OpenFate does not convert this historical chain into an employment badge

OpenFate can calculate stems, positions, Ten Gods, output relations, stem combinations, strength and damage. It does not currently output Official Above Official or an attached-office prediction.

Implementation would require a reviewed subject convention, complete relation table, fixed or flexible positions, combination policy, positive and negative fixtures, and localized explanations. The Wiki leaves current reports unchanged.

  • Do not treat any Officer–Output–Combination trio as equivalent.
  • Resolve the historical subject model before writing an aggregate rule.

A nested relation does not prove rank, multiple roles or multiple talents

Official Above Official does not prove seniority, public office, multiple jobs, side income, artistic talent, professional licensure, promotion, salary, class, loyalty, health or success. The source’s occupational praise is historical rhetoric.

Employment and education decisions require verified skills, credentials, performance, contracts and opportunity. Do not assign rank, promise a post or pressure someone into concurrent work from this pattern.

  • Exclude rank, multiple-job, talent, promotion and salary guarantees.
  • Use credentials, performance and consent for real work decisions.
