What Is Pure Unity (一氣生成) in BaZi?
Learn the ten strict Pure Unity pillar routes, broader same-stem and same-branch variants, required chart checks, damage conditions and OpenFate limits.
Overview
Pure Unity is the workbook’s English name for 一氣生成. The strict passage names ten charts in which all four pillars repeat one complete stem-branch pair: Ren-Yin, Xin-Mao, Geng-Chen, Ji-Si, Wu-Wu, Ding-Wei, Bing-Shen, Yi-You, Jia-Xu or Gui-Hai. It then discusses broader variants with four identical stems, called Heavenly-Origin One Breath, and four identical branches, called Earthly Forms Alike. These layers must not be collapsed. Even a strict match still requires review of season, hidden Wealth-Officer-Resource-Output relations, transformations, following structures and damage from clashes or punishment. OpenFate does not declare Pure Unity.

The strict route repeats one complete pillar four times
The source lists four Ren-Yin, four Xin-Mao, four Geng-Chen, four Ji-Si, four Wu-Wu, four Ding-Wei, four Bing-Shen, four Yi-You, four Jia-Xu and four Gui-Hai. This is stronger than merely having the same element or two repeated pillars.
A route match establishes only the classical shape. The passage itself assigns different readings to the ten pairs, so “all identical” is not a universal result.

Same-stem and same-branch variants are related but separate layers
The text also calls four unmixed identical stems Heavenly-Origin One Breath and four identical branches Earthly Forms Alike. Those broader structures can occur without four identical complete pillars.
For every layer, inspect the branches for Wealth, Officer, Resource and Output, whether the chart transforms or follows, whether the season supports it, and whether clash, punishment, break or seizure damages the configuration.
