What Is Flying Wealth (飛財) in BaZi?
Learn Flying Wealth’s same month-day stem and same day-hour branch rule, the opposite-palace clash, strength, transformation blockers and product limits.
Overview
Flying Wealth is the standard English name for 飛財. The classical rule requires the month stem to equal the day stem and the hour branch to equal the day branch; the repeated branch is then read as clashing the opposite palace to seek Wealth. A Ren-Shen example uses repeated Shen toward Yin, while a Wu-Yin example uses several Yin toward Shen and its hidden Water Wealth. This is not satisfied by any repeated branch or any Wealth clash. If the repeated branches transform into another combination, leak the Day Master excessively, meet a damaging Seven Killing or lack the source-defined strength to carry Wealth, the route fails or yields to an ordinary pattern. OpenFate calculates the visible repetition and clashes but has no Flying Wealth detector.
At a glance
- Stem repetition
- Month stem equals day stem
- Branch repetition
- Hour branch equals day branch
- Mechanism
- Repeated branch clashes the opposite Wealth palace
- Ren-Shen example
- Repeated Shen directs the reading toward Yin
- Key blocker
- Repeated branches transform into another frame
- Product boundary
- No OpenFate Flying Wealth detector
Both the stem and branch repetition rules are required
The source states that the day stem matches the month stem and the day branch matches the hour branch. Only after both align does it describe the repeated branch as clashing toward the opposite palace for Wealth.
The Ren-Shen example and the Wu-Yin example use different Day Masters and hidden targets. They show the method, but do not make all duplicated pillars equivalent or turn every clash into Flying Wealth.
- Check both equality conditions before the clash.
- Recalculate the target as Wealth for the actual Day Master.
Transformation, leakage and attacking Killing can break the route
The source warns that the repeated branches must not transform into another branch frame. Such a change redirects the structure instead of preserving the clash used to seek Wealth.
Day-Master strength, output leakage and a Seven Killing attacking the Day Master must also be evaluated. Direct Wealth in the month command or another clear ordinary pattern takes precedence over the rare name.
- Treat combination transformation as a competing result.
- Resolve strength and ordinary patterns before labeling the route.
OpenFate computes the repetition and clash without inventing Wealth
OpenFate can compare month and day stems, compare day and hour branches, identify the opposite branch, calculate hidden stems and Ten Gods, and show clashes, combinations and strength evidence.
It does not insert the opposite palace or its hidden stems and does not output Flying Wealth. A detector needs exact equality rules, a Day-Master target map, absent-target policy, transformation blockers and negative fixtures. Existing reports remain unchanged.
- Visible and inferred symbols must remain separate.
- Fail closed when the target or transformation state is unclear.
Flying Wealth is not evidence of sudden income
The classical name does not prove earnings, windfalls, investment returns, business success or a date when money will arrive.
Use actual financial records and licensed advice for money decisions. The pattern also provides no basis for legal, employment, relationship, health or safety decisions.
- Exclude windfall and investment promises.
- Do not convert the label into event timing.
