Overview

Reform Pattern is the workbook standard English name for 從革格, the Metal “following change” form. San Ming Tong Hui’s prose is narrower than many modern summaries: it names a Xin Day Master meeting Si–You–Chou and requires one or two Bing, Ding, Si or Wu Fire signals to shape the Metal, while warning that too much Fire damages it. It also distinguishes season and nurturing by Water or Earth. A blanket rule that all Fire must be absent therefore does not represent this passage. OpenFate evaluates dominant Metal through its generic 從旺格 or 從旺未純 family; reviewed fixtures cover both Si–You–Chou and Shen–You–Xu style cases, but the product does not emit a separate 從革格 label.

The received prose centers Xin and a complete Si–You–Chou frame

The rule begins with a Xin day seeing Si, You and Chou. It then asks for a limited amount of Bing, Ding, Si or Wu so Metal can be shaped, explicitly saying that Fire must not become excessive.

The passage discusses Xin-Si, Xin-You and Xin-Chou days, avoids a harsh fifth-month condition and values eighth-month timing or Water and Earth nourishment. These details are more specific than simply labeling a chart “Metal dominant.”

  • Verify Xin, the complete frame and the amount of tempering Fire.
  • Keep month and nurturing conditions in the evidence.

Limited Fire in the source conflicts with a common no-Fire shortcut

Modern dedicated-Metal summaries often require no visible Fire, or treat Si as harmless only after it joins the Metal frame. The cited passage instead wants controlled Fire and rejects only excess. Those are different rule families.

Shen–You–Xu is also used in some modern western-frame formulations, while this prose names Si–You–Chou. A reliable page must identify which frame and Fire policy it is applying rather than merging both into an undocumented detector.

  • State whether the route is Si–You–Chou or another school’s western frame.
  • Attribute limited-Fire and no-Fire rules instead of blending them.

OpenFate keeps named tradition separate from generic Metal dominance

The production engine assesses dominant Metal, supporting Earth, controlled Output leakage, month command, visible opposition and interactions. Textbook-like fixtures can form generic 從旺格; disputed leakage or opposing participants can remain 從旺未純 and retain both balance and momentum evidence.

It does not currently publish 從革格 as the pattern name. Adding this Wiki page neither changes that taxonomy nor rewrites existing reports, useful elements or saved charts.

  • Present the production status exactly as returned.
  • Do not silently convert generic 從旺格 into 從革格.

“Reform” is not evidence of personality or profession

The name does not prove adaptability, discipline, toughness, innovation, military aptitude, engineering talent or work with metal. Nor does controlled Fire establish rank, authority or success.

Do not infer employment, wealth, legal outcomes, violence, relationships, health, safety or lifespan from this elemental label. Consequential decisions need observed evidence.

  • No adaptability, technical skill, military or leadership claim.
  • No career, financial, legal, health, violence or lifespan prediction.
