What Is Mao-Wei Remote Si (卯未遙巳) in BaZi?

Overview
Mao-Wei Remote Si is the standard English name for 卯未遙巳. The source limits it to Xin-Mao, Gui-Mao, Xin-Wei and Gui-Wei day pillars. It then requires three or four Mao to clash toward You, or three or four Wei to clash toward Chou; You and Chou are read as combining toward an absent Si whose hidden Bing is Officer for Xin and hidden Wu is Officer for Gui. One or two Mao or Wei do not meet the stated threshold. If Si is visible, the remote target is filled; if the Day Pillar is outside the four-item set, the chain is incomplete; if a direct Wealth, Officer, Noble or Food-God structure is clearer, it takes precedence. OpenFate calculates the visible counts and relations but has no Mao-Wei Remote Si detector.

Only four Day Pillars enter the source rule
The listed pillars are Xin-Mao, Gui-Mao, Xin-Wei and Gui-Wei. Xin seeks Bing Fire as Officer, while Gui seeks Wu Earth; both targets are hidden in the absent Si used by the old remote-link model.
A Xin or Gui Day Master on another branch is not enough. The complete Day Pillar is the first gate, and the inferred Si-Bing-Wu chain remains interpretation rather than a new pillar.

The source requires three or four Mao or three or four Wei
On the Mao route, repeated Mao clashes toward You; on the Wei route, repeated Wei clashes toward Chou. You and Chou are then used as the indirect connection to Si. The sequence is a transmitted classical model, not a standard rule that branches appear through clashes.
The text expressly rejects one or two Mao or Wei for this pattern and directs the reader to ordinary Wealth, Officer, Noble or Food-God analysis instead. Visible Si fills the remote target and also ends the premise.
